La Linea Verde, an Italian group specializing in the production of fresh-cut salads and ready-to-eat dishes, has announced its new addition to strengthen the fresh-cut segment.
The new facility in Sardinia has a potential to handle 10 thousand packages a day and boasts two production sites in the Oristano province, an area particularly suitable for the cultivation of baby leaf and open-field vegetables with both integrated and organic techniques.
The company promoted by the group is called Antiga Sardigna Società Agricola Srl and is made up of three units: a processing facility covering 3,000 sq m equipped with state-of-the-art fresh-cut technologies, a production crop in the Marrubiu territory and another in San Nicolò d'Arcidano.
The new site already has a greater production potential than the previous one and, over the next few months, new processing lines will be installed for other fresh-cut products. A modern production facility and plenty of land are the perfect combination to meet the increasing demand on the island.
"It is a positive thing for the territory as well, as 25 people have been hired and it is only the beginning," stresses Andrea Battagliola, general manager of the Manerbio facility.
