New packaging for Fragola' mountain strawberries

The new FragolĂ  packaging is ready for commercialization. The design is colorful and transmits a clear message that also provides a virtual tour through the QR code. It also features the location of the crops (Alta Lessinia) and the Sapore e profumo delle Alpi slogan.

"The harvesting of mountain strawberries in the Verona province started around a month ago. We supply high-quality produce with the FragolĂ  brand and harvesting will continue until late October," explains Massimo Ceradini.

"We were worried in May due to the rain and few light hours, as we thought it would penalize production but actually the situation stimulated plants to develop their root system and now they are benefiting from it," explains crop manager Mattia Brutti.

Production is abundant, organoleptic qualities are high and shelf-life is long. "The Murano and Irma varieties are perfect for this type of soil-less mountain cultivation. Fruits reach a high Brix level, the flesh is crunchy and they have a bright color. Of course we are also testing other varieties, but none has reached the same quality so far."

Prices were very good in mid-June, then they dropped and started recovering a few days ago.

Everything is organized down to the tiniest detail. Around fifty operators harvest the fruit from the early morning until 12 pm, then they stop to preserve the quality of the fruit. Strawberries are then immediately packaged and placed in a refrigerated environment. They reach the central warehouse and are distributed within a few hours.
