EPS collection point should also be preserved in the future:

"We want to send a strong signal for the location of the Munich Wholesale Market"

The Munich Wholesale Market is facing a change: After much back and forth, they have decided to renovate the old location in the city. There will be new buildings and new infrastructure. Many larger companies have already withdrawn from the wholesale market or want to do so in the future. Sales manager Marian Polomski explains why the wholesale market area still remains an important location for Euro Pool System in an interview with FreshPlaza.

The wholesale market in the city center

Euro Pool System has a collection point for their crates, integrated in the warehouse of a trader, as a service to the customers of the company at the wholesale market. "Our collection point gives our customers some advantages: We can pay off the full deposit value for green boxes, and also allow free traders to use our system. Therefore, we are represented at all major wholesale markets in Germany: Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main, Mannheim, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, Bielefeld and Hannover. " At the collection points "every year, 1.2 million crates pass through the collection point in Munich."

"If the traders do not know where to return their trades, there will be losses for them and for us," says Polomski. In the market, about 50 resident dealers are partners of Euro Pool System, otherwise there are still about 50 customers from the Greater Munich area, who make their purchases on the wholesale market.

The entrance to the collection point

Especially because of these free traders, among which are market traders, restaurateurs and small retailers, the location is in the right place, Polomski said: "The wholesale market is and will remain an important part of German trade. Unfortunately some big traders are leaving the market, which means a loss for the location. Of course, we also have to think about logistics when our customers are no longer centrally located here on the site - but ultimately that's simply a matter of planning. "

However, the expert considers the future of the collection point to be secure. "We want to continue to stay on the wholesale market and thus send a strong signal for the location, and we want to continue providing our customers with smooth service and smaller dealerships
provide equal opportunities in our system."
