Price of Chinese peaches shows downward trend

Reports from Henan Wanbang International Market show that the price of Mao peaches recently declined. Mao peaches are mainly produced in Hebei, Dangshan in Anhui, and Xinxiang in Henan. The main reasons for the price decline are as follows:

1. There are many production areas and the overall production volume is large. Traders explain that the price declines when fresh peaches from Shandong and Henan enter the market. The sales volume of Mao peaches begins to grow in mid-June. Traders prefer a small profit with rapid turnover to minimize the cost of storage and limit the volume of fruit that goes bad.

2. Peach farmers enjoyed an abundant harvest this year. The cost price and transport costs are low. The harvests of Mao peaches in Xinxiang, Yuanyang, and Dangshan were abundant. The core of Mao peach production gradually shifts from production areas in northeast China and Hebei to production areas in Xinxiang and Dangshan. Not only did the cost price of peaches come down, but the transport costs also decreased because production areas moved closer to the market. This is another reason for the price decline of Mao peaches.

3. Most peach varieties are seasonal fruits. They are quite popular with consumers. Wanbang Market has several peach varieties on offer: honey peaches, Mao peaches, yellow Mao peaches, and Pan peaches. The sales volume of nectarines and honey peaches is relatively large because the flavor and product quality are better. This puts further pressure on the price of Mao peaches.

The price of Mao peaches will continue to fall as the temperature continues to rise. The price is expected to stabilize in August and remain stable until Mao peaches leave the market.
