Networking a key component at Organic Produce Summit

While all trade shows provide the chance for companies to network with each other and help create a foundation for great partnerships, the Organic Produce Summit’s focus on the organic category emphasizes this even more. This is also how Mucci Farms, a greenhouse grower with operations across North America, summed up the reason why they exhibit.

“Mucci Farms annually exhibits at the Organic Produce Summit as it provides a great platform for us to network with current and prospective partners to grow our Natural Organics program,” observed Steve Zaccardi, Director of Sales at Mucci Farms, adding that the educational sessions are also a valuable part of the event. “The Organic Produce Summit is a great show, and it differentiates itself by focusing on one major area of the industry. The educational breakout sessions are very helpful as they offer a lot of specific information from the retail and wholesale side of the organic produce category.”

Products on show
Mucci Farms grows both conventional and organic produce. As part of its lineup, the company offers organic produce under the Natural Organics label. This is part of what will be on show at OPS in Monterey this week. Zaccardi shared that Mucci Farms grows both conventional and organic produce as it believes consumer should have the choice of what fits them the best.

“We will be showcasing our Natural Organics lineup consisting of a variety of tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers,” he said. “Our organic supply is a combination of our own production in Canada and partner growers across North America. The differences between our organic and conventional products are marginal, and our focus is to accommodate consumer demand by making both products available. As we educate consumers on both types of farming, we’re confident they’ll make the best choice for their needs.”

Organic expansions in the works
More expansions to its organic line are being planned by Mucci Farms. The company said its current area of focus is on Long English cucumbers, but products like tomatoes and bell peppers are also on the cards.

“While we are featuring our Long English Seedless Cucumbers which are currently being harvested in Canada, we’re consistently expanding the supply of all of our organic offerings including TOV’s, Beefsteak, Heirloom and Grape tomatoes, along with Mini Cucumbers and Bell Peppers. All of our products are certified Organic by Pro Cert.,” Zaccardi concluded.
