Promotion is fundamental for companies, especially for those working within the agricultural and advanced technology sectors. This is the case for Irritec, a leading Italian company working in the production and distribution of sustainable irrigation solutions.
This year, the company launched "BEST AGRISHOT 2019, Premio Agricoltore Fotografo dell'Anno", the first edition of a contest advertised on an international scale by FreshPlaza. The initiative is aimed at owners or employees with a penchant for photography.
From a social point of view, the initiative is in line with the need to sensitize the sector as regards the low availability of water and increasing food demand on a global scale, which require the use of rational irrigation systems. Agriculture is, in fact, the production sector that uses up the most water (up to 70-80% of available resources).
"We decided to create this contest to provide a way for producers with a penchant for photography to showcase their company starting with the irrigation system," explains Giulia Giuffrè, marketing director at Irritec.
"All kinds of irrigation systems can be depicted. Of course, the initiative aims at promoting sustainable irrigation, but photographing older systems can also be useful to highlight the contrast with outdated and dispersive systems, while the most modern ones make us understand how technology can be perfected."

The competition opened on 8th April 2019 and will close on 31st July 2019. Participants can fill in the questionnaire on the Irritec website at https://www.irritec.com/it/best-agrishot-2019/ and attach one or more photographs (10 max) in line with the theme of the contest.

The winners will be announced by 30th September 2019 by a jury made up of two Irritec representatives and two professional photographers.

"The theme of the contest is Water in Agriculture, i.e. everything relating to irrigation and crop growth with particular attention to water saving, respect for the environment and localized irrigation techniques."
