Currently, various seasonal fruit in Hainan are in their production seasons. “In the past few months, there has been a lot of trade of Hainan fruit. Compared with last year, the fruit production in Hainan this year is generally lower. This is mainly due to the fact that Hainan experienced heavy rainfall earlier, which has affected the growth and production of fruit to some extent. I estimate that the total fruit production this season is about one-third lower than last year.” Mr. Chang, a trader of fruit from Hainan shared.

“The limited total supply spurs the market price of fruit to rise. For the same fruit, its price this year is higher than in the same period last year. With the limited supply, in order to get quality fruit, many wholesalers visit orchards directly to make orders. We don’t face this problem, as we have long-term stable cooperation with farmers, which guarantees the stability of fruit supply and the high quality of fruit, such as golden passion fruit and wax apples.”

“The shipments of Hainan wax apples and golden passion fruit this season will stop in 10 to 15 days, and the whole season lasts for 3 to 4 months. The overall sales have been very smooth and there’s been more demand than supply.”
