LA-based producer values common focus

“The OPS is unique in that the entire focus of the conference is on one very exciting, fast growing and energized segment of our industry; organics.” This is how Los Angeles-based 4Earth Farms describes the Organic Produce Summit, which will take place in Monterey on July 10 and 11, 2019. This will be the company’s fourth time exhibiting, having been inaugural exhibitors since the first OPS Expo in 2016.

“We only exhibit at a few shows annually, and pick where we invest our time and money very carefully,” said Mark Munger – Vice President of Sales & Marketing at 4Earth Farms. “The OPS has consistently delivered fantastic value, both in terms of the qualified buyer presence and the content of the educational programs. We are all there for a common reason and a common purpose, which is to collaborate on tactics and strategies to grow the organic fresh produce category.”

Full line up on display
4Earth Farms has decided to display their full lineup of organic produce items at their booth in Monterey. Munger said the company’s goal is to use their booth space to demonstrate the breadth and scope of the 4Earth organic program. “Our customers will be able to see our full line of organic produce items in various pack styles,” he shared. “We find that it’s much easier to discuss programs and opportunities when our customers can see, feel and taste our entire organic line of produce.”

Some of the items that will be highlighted include mini cucumbers and peppers, areas where the company has seen particularly strong growth in recent years. “Aside from our full line of 4Earth organic items, we are highlighting the growth of our organic mini cucumber, mini sweet peppers and the introduction of 4Earth organic French beans. We like using our booth to have comprehensive sales conversations and find the discussions are much more productive when our customers can see the full 4Earth Farms product line.”

Discussions on company’s growth plans
4Earth Farms is also in the midst of expansions across North and Central America and this will be another topic of conversation the company is bringing to the Organic Produce Summit. Munger said 4Earth Farms is expanding all of its year-round organic farming programs with the aim to increase its geographic and seasonal diversity.

“Growth will be the main topic,” he added. “We have also expanded our growing programs in Guatemala. We are adding new growing regions and new growing technologies to improve our ability to consistently deliver high quality produce 365 days a year. We are also expanding our in-house production and packing facility by over 40 percent to improve our capacity and efficiencies. We have been adding new packing machines and new packing technology this spring and are excited to share these vital investments with our customers.”
