An open letter from Yong Zhang, CEO of Alibaba, published on the group’s official Weibo on early June 18th, announced a series of the group’s future-facing organizational upgrades, including reorganizing the group’s innovative business group and upgrading Hema to an independent business group. At the same time, DingTalk will be brought into the Ali Cloud smart business group.
It is worth noting that, last year alone, Hema opened more than 100 stores. It is also considering a new business model that is more localized and down to earth. In addition to Hema Fresh, Hema has also opened stores in new forms such as Hema Fruit and Veg Market, Hema Mini, Hema F2, and Hema Station. Hema will continue to upgrade itself according to different shopping scenarios, and lead the “new retail” model to penetrate consumer markets across China.
