This year, the Monterosa company will present a new concept in the tomato segment: the Monterosa Tomato Collection; a pack of three tomatoes of three different colors and flavors. The presentation of the Monterosa Tomato Collection will be carried out by chef David Andrés, of Barcelona's Via Veneto restaurant.
The Monterosa tomato has been marketed in Europe since 2016, but also in Canada, Mexico and the United States. In Spain, Gavà Grup supplies the local and European market with the production from 60 hectares located in several areas of Almeria. Part of Gavà's new production will be carried out adhering to organic standards, as the seed and now also some fields have been certified.
The Monterosa tomato is produced exclusively in Spain, Portugal, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Costa Rica. Recently, the seed company Semillas Fitó has signed an agreement with Casa Ametller to increase the production of the Monterosa in Catalonia.
