The new product developed by the company Agro Selections Fruits (also known as MAILLARD Genetics), owner of the REGAL'IN varieties, is the white flat nectarine.
Its new generation of flat white nectarines, with high taste potential and excellent appearance, is allowing it to offer an innovative and complete product range. Specifically, the company REGAL'IN EUROPE currently markets 12 varieties which cover the entire half-season calendar, all with the same organoleptic patterns: semi-sweet flavor, full closure and coloring, aromatic and crunchy.
At present, the company has 600 hectares planted, with the productions already sold under contract, and the objective is to expand the acreage to 750 hectares of conventional crops and 150 hectares of organic crops by 2024.
In 2018, the NECTARINE BLANCHE PLATE association was created in France. It brought 6 major players in the sector together with the aim of planting 300 hectares of white nectarines by the year 2023 (100 of which have already been planted). Now four reputable Spanish companies in the sector are joining this association, adhering to the agreements already signed, in order to optimize the production in Spain: ALBICE FRUITS, CINCAGROUP and FRUTARIA for the conventional production and HACIENDASBIO for the organic production.
Flat white nectarines are making it possible to meet the new consumption trends, since they are healthy, very tasty, practical and ideal products to consume on the go.
