Moldova: Aydared and Renet Simirenko varieties significantly increase in price

Following negative price trends in the apple market in monitored countries, EastFruit has once again recorded price increases. At the same time, upward price trends by the end of the reporting period were established in almost all countries of the region, and Moldova became the leader in terms of price growth. It was in Moldova that the quality apple Renet Simirenko rose in price by almost 25% over the reporting period and the Aydared variety rose in price by more than 20%. Price increase has also been noted for varieties such as Golden Delicious and Granny Smith.

During the end of last week, a high-quality apple also became more expensive in Ukraine, while the price increase was not as significant as in Moldova. The varieties Aydared, Renet Simirenko and Gala rose in price from an average of 10% to 15%.

Upward price trends in the apple segment were also noted on the market of the Russian Federation, but sellers managed to revise selling prices only for certain varieties and a maximum of 5%.

As for the range of apples on offer in the region, then, as before, almost any main variety during the reporting period could be purchased in Ukraine and on the market of the Russian Federation. At the same time, in countries such as Poland, Belarus and Georgia, the range of varieties on the market was limited.

Low wholesale prices for apples in Poland and Ukraine
The lowest prices in the region, as before, were wholesale prices for apples in Poland and Ukraine, where the maximum prices for apples were at a level below 50 dollar cents per 1 kg, and quality apples of the Aydared variety in Poland were sold at no more than $ 0 , 16 / kg.

Also, in the outgoing week, relatively cheap apples could be purchased in the markets of Moldova and Belarus, where the maximum prices for high-quality products did not exceed $ 0.60 / kg.

As exceptional cases among the countries of the region of the project monitoring, prices for high-quality imported apples of certain varieties in the market of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan reached the level of $ 3.0-6.0 / kg by the end of the reporting period! However, project analysts point out that sales of such expensive products were at a very low level.
