"The Chinese market share of our grape cling film grows by 120% per year"

JK Group has six subsidiary companies involved in cling film for grapes, cardboard boxes for fruit, water-resistant materials, printing ink, and fruit ripening injections. The subsidiary Grapvin produces cling film for grapes. The company was established in 1991 in a small town in the south of India called Nashik. The company specializes in the research and development of technology that helps to keep grapes fresh. Grapvin is a large-scale international company that integrates research and development, production, and retail.

Grapvin produces and sells products that help to protect the quality of grapes, including grape cling film that is effective over an extended period and grape cling film that is effective for a short duration. The products of Grapvin are produced on a large scale at low costs. Grapvin relies on advanced technology, carries out market research, and takes the unique properties of raw material into consideration during the design of grape protection products. Grapvin also pays attention to such issues as insufficient pre-cooling time and problems with storage in refrigerated warehouses.

Ms. Wendy of Grapvin Grape Protection provided a further introduction to the company: "Our products sell in more than 100 countries all over the globe. Our main markets are in Europe and Asia. As for our customers, traders with refrigerated warehouses are our main client group. The main reason for this situation is that during the peak period of grape production season only a small volume can immediately be sold for consumption. The majority needs to be kept in cold storage and released at different times during the year. If traders with refrigerated warehouses use inappropriate technology then the grapes are likely to spoil. That would create immense waste in the grape industry."

"China is the fastest-developing market among all our export markets. The Chinese market share of our grape cling film grows by 120% per year. This is enough proof of the great speed at which our market share in China develops. The main areas where fresh grapes are stored in China are Xinjiang and Shandong. First, the grape production volumes in Xinjiang and Shandong are immense. This makes these areas suitable for long-term storage of grapes. Second, farmers can take advantage from the gaps between grape supply from different production areas and sell grapes from refrigerated storage to profit from higher prices during the off-season."

"There are only two companies in the world that produce cling film for grapes. We were the first to be established, in 1991. We research and develop our products in cooperation with Nashik University. Our products are BRC-certified, which is the highest safety standard for food product packaging. Food safety is the main criteria in the competition between different companies. Our BRC-certification gives us an advantage over our competition and helps us secure first place."
