"Frankfurt Fresh Center is characterized by a diversity of products and providers"

"The Frankfurter Frischezentrum is characterized by the diversity of its products and suppliers," says Wolfgang Lindner, Managing Director of Lindner GmbH, headquartered at the Frankfurter Frischezentrum, describing the mood on the wholesale market. In addition to being a very cohesive lot, he also commented on the benefits of the building itself: "Wholesale markets did not always have the best reputation and our previous wholesale market limited our possibilities. The new building is very different: We have a functional business space and there is a heavy emphasis on hygiene and cleanliness. Many other wholesale markets do not have a clear-cut concept lime we have, or simply lack the possibilities we have with this new building."

The city of Frankfurt heavily involved the traders in the planning of the construction of the new site. After one year of planning and one year of construction, the market was completed. In contrast to many other cities, the wholesale market is the first in Germany, which is not run purely by the municipality; it also has a supervisory board, made up of several traders.

The Lindner firm, a family business since 1981, supplies caterers, bulk consumers and wholesalers and retailers in the Rhine-Main area with fresh food and convenience products. Currently, the classic seasonal products are particularly popular: "When the end of the German asparagus season has come, in just over a week, chanterelles will get going." The weather plays a particularly important role, the managing director says: "Peaches, nectarines and watermelons are the best today, but sales go up and down with the temperature: the warmer the better."

In addition to regional and (inter-) national specialties, the Lindner firm also offers a large selection of exotic and mini vegetables, which are especially popular with restaurateurs. Sprouts and herbs can also be sourced from the company's headquarters in Frankfurt. "We want to offer the best quality, at a good price-performance ratio, and we attach a great importance to good service," concludes Lindner.
