Uvasdoce kicks off new campaign

Presentation of new Candy Snaps table grape product for children

On Wednesday June 12, Uvasdoce kicked off the 2019 campaign with a presentation event attended by more than fifty people, including customers, suppliers, media and local authorities. In this presentation, the Alicante-based firm reported the news for the next campaign, which will start in just a few days.

One of the highlights was the confirmation that in 2019, the company's production will consist almost entirely of seedless varieties, with traditional varieties already accounting for less than 10% of the total volume.

The day started with the inauguration of its new farm 'La Gloria' by the Mayor of Monforte del Cid, Mª Dolores Berenguer Belló, and the manager of Uvasdoce, Alfredo Miralles.

On this farm, fully devoted to the production of seedless varieties, it was possible for attendees to check the status of five of the seven new varieties that Uvasdoce is going to harvest and market for the first time. These are the Candy Snaps, Candy Drops, Candy Hearts, Candy Dreams and Candy Crunch, which stand out for their unique flavors. The first three are pink varieties, while the Candy Dreams and Candy Crunch are black grape varieties. With them, the company has expanded its range of varieties developed in the IFG program.

Moreover, the firm will also harvest the Timpson (a white seedless variety with a Muscat-like flavor) and Allison (a late seedless red variety) for the first time. Both of these come from the SNFL varietal program.

The department of Purchasing and Materials presented the results of several years of work with its suppliers to find the best solutions in materials, eliminating as much plastic as possible, while maintaining the freshness and hygiene of the grapes in the supermarket shelves.

Lastly, and as a highlight of the day, Uvasdoce presented a new product that will be launched at the end of July with the harvest of the first Candy Snaps, which have a delicious and sweet strawberry-like flavor. We are talking about a 200 gram format featuring the sweetest grape, aimed at the youngest consumers.

The packaging is 100% recyclable and washable, but the most surprising aspect is that one of its parts contains a piece of a collectible puzzle. Consumers will have to find 12 different ones in order to complete this puzzle. And this is not all. Uvasdoce has also launched a new section on its website dedicated to Our Essentials, where it is possible to meet each of these characters, learn about the varieties they represent, and download materials for coloring, learning and playing.

But the biggest surprise for the attendees was the presentation of a runner style video game featuring Our Essentials as protagonists, and in which players will have to solve several challenges. It will be launched in late July for IOS and Android.
