As of Monday 17 June, Freight Line Europe will offer conditioned transport to and from France, in addition to their existing activities in the UK. Henk van Berkel and Philippe Berchoux will be organising both grouped and complete freights as part of the transporter from De Lier, the Netherlands, as of that date.
“Officially, I still have to start for FLE,” Henk says. “However, I’ve been working on the preparations since early June. I have 27 years of experience with Philippe, particularly in organising freight flows to and from France, and as a result, I have a lot of expertise. After my former employer went bankrupt we therefore decided to continue, in part in response to demand we received from the market.”

Expansion
Henk and Chris-Hans van der Hout of FLE came into contact with each other, and things went quickly after that. “As a specialist for the UK, FLE has an extensive distribution network in the Netherlands, as well as all required software support, at their disposal. The professional employees are good at what they do. We got it made, as far as that’s concerned.”
“With their expertise and network, Henk and Philippe are a perfect fit for our company,” says John de Boom, commercially responsible at FLE. “In connection to this new logistic line from the Netherlands, we can also offer transport between France and the UK.”
Challenges
“A major challenge for efficiency and timely deliveries in France is the country’s size. The crowds on the roads to France and a tendency to strike aren’t helpful either. Our people, however, are very experienced, and we have new and well-maintained material and the most advanced information systems at our disposal,” Henk continues. “We’re therefore convinced we can offer a high-quality and flexible service to France,” John concludes.
