"We offer a large number of products that allow us to be present on the markets throughout the whole year. Currently we offer: apricots, peaches, Percoca peaches, watermelons, tomatoes and courgettes, including some organic products such as apricots, cherries and Percoca peaches". This is what Angelo Solfrizzi, sales manager of "La Nuova Miriam Frutta", a company based in Puglia and founded in 2016 specialized in the marketing of fruit and vegetables in different areas of Italy explained to FreshPlaza.

The majority of employees who work for the company are young and aged between 25 and 40: "Our suppliers cultivate their own products in compliance with the regulations in force, to guarantee the end consumer a product that is healthy, good and beautiful both inside and outside. The number of producers and suppliers we work with is roughly 70."
The area used to grow the peaches of "San Ferdinando di Puglia" measures 10 hectares, while the "Conversano" apricots are grown on an area of 20 hectares, and the volumes produced are in line with the demands of markets that request a high number of these products.
"We market in different regions of Italy, both in the intermediary markets and in the large-scale retail trade, but Puglia is the region where the majority of our customers are located. Yesterday we began with collecting the first local Aegean Percoca peach varieties that are sold between 1 and 1.20 € per kg ".
"After several days during which prices were very low, the prices of peaches, apricots and nectarines are now slightly increasing. Our peaches are currently sold at around € 1.00 and € 1.20 per kg (depending on the processing method used), while the price for nectarines is of € 1.00 per kg, and for Orange Rubis apricots it ranges between € 1.50 and € 1.80 per kg".
