Members of the National Model of Community Surveillance by Quadrants in the Banana Zone detained three men in the townships of Seville and Orihueca when they were trying to steal bunches of bananas from farms.
The Civic Participation Network raised the alarm that a man had entered the premises of a banana plantation located in Seville and that he was cutting and packing some bunches of bananas. The police arrived at the site and arrested Aldair Enrique Landete Rivaldo, 27, with four bunches of bananas, which are valued at 120 thousand pesos.
The other case took place in a farm located in Orihueca, where members of the security forces arrived after the call of a local security guard, who surprised two men cutting and packing bananas with the plan of marketing them later.
The detainees were identified as Julio Cesar Arias Correa, 21, and Jose David Cayama Chirinos, 18, and of Venezuelan nationality.
The three captured men were placed at the disposal of the Cienaga sectional prosecutor's office, which will prosecute for the crime of attempted robbery in a tentative degree, and which determined a non-custodial detention.
