Ukraine returns 38 tons of tomatoes back to Turkey

Ukraine returned 38 tons of tomatoes back to Turkey on the grounds that they contained "unhealthy substances".

According to the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, 38 tons of tomatoes imported from Turkey were analyzed in the cities of Nikolaev and Dnipro. As a result of this analysis, South African moth was detected. Tomatoes that contained unhealthy substances were sent back to Turkey, the statement said.

Turkey was warned so that the country should not export again products to Ukraine that do not comply with the Ukrainian hygiene standards .

It is not the first time that Ukraine rejects Turkish products. In April, Ukraine sent 15 tons of tomatoes back to Turkey for the same reason.
