The banana company, Standard Fruit of Honduras, a member of the Dole group, announced the temporary suspension of the dismissals of individual work contracts.
The company stated that it made the decision due to events of force majeure that risk the lives of people, the workers' job stability, and substantial damages.
They also indicated that as long as the country's security and stability conditions normalize, they would restart their activities as of this Wednesday.
The company said that the procedures in the Ministry of Labor which would confirm the facts of a force majeure that give rise to the suspension of individual contracts are still pending.
The statement was signed by the labor relations manager of the Standard Fruit of Honduras, Mauricio Romero.
Earlier, the banana company announced the suspension of individual contracts due to a lack of guarantees.
