One grower is headed, for the first time, to the United Fresh show to boost awareness around their brand and develop new partnerships for the Thanksgiving specialty commodity.
“We’re going to United Fresh to gain exposure. We’ve been around a while and while the brand has grown itself in the Midwest, we’d like to compete at the next level,” says Kevin Tritz of Twin Lake Cranberry in Vesper, Wisconsin. “We have expanded our farm to support additional customers and are looking to make the connections and build the relationships at the show to move 500,000 lbs. of fresh cranberries for 2019.”
Trade shows in general are new to Twin Lake. “It’s good to see what’s out there, tell our story and build relationships. We have customers attending United Fresh so I’m looking forward to catching up with them as well,” says Tritz. “It also looks like there are a number of customers out of the Southern United States and we’d love to move cranberries down South.”
Twin Lake, a grower, packager, and seller of fresh cranberries, intends to show within its booth how unique a company it really is. “Visitors will see what we do that’s different and how we’re innovating,” Tritz says. “We package and sell in mesh and it’s unique to the industry. But it’s the tip of the iceberg for us, and we’re going to show the rest of the iceberg that people don’t see.”
Tritz says the company picks, loads and transports cranberries in a different way than others in the industry and it has also customized its drying process. “In the end, we handle each cranberry gentler than the industry standard,” says Tritz. “Twenty years ago, we did it all like everyone else. But we saw where the errors were and we started correcting them. Now we’re excited to start showing everybody what we’re doing that ensures they get the very best.”
