After the inauguration of a grain library, Negrelian officials have opened greenhouses near Château de Châteauneuf-le-Rouge.
Covering an area of 1100 m², these greenhouses were erected in one month and will be used to provide the city's school canteen with organic fruit and vegetables.
"It was a huge project, because upstream we had to clear the land that was wasteland, prepare the soil, and finally set up irrigation. I had the chance to work with two people who helped me set up the greenhouses: Philippe Barthoux and Nikita Letunovtkiy," explains market gardener Olivier Gigan.
The financing was provided by several institutions: the estimated cost is 155,000 euros, the Departmental Council contributes 33,000 euros, the Metropolitan Area 61,000 euros and the Commune 61,000 euros.
