In general, enough goods flowed onto the markets from the banana ripeners. The offer was roughly in line with the predominantly flat demand. As a result, most prices remained at a fairly constant level. Sometimes the cheaper second and third brands were popular, but there were no real price increases.
Second-level brands were supplied from Costa Rica. Locally, the deliveries of the top brands were not sufficient to satisfy the demand. The traders were therefore able to increase their prices a little.
