The first shipments of Guatemalan mangoes have arrived in the ports of Chile. The total weight of the shipment is 22.4 tons. The importers in question were satisfied with the quality of the fruit. They have already sent the mangoes to retailers across the country.
“We are pleased to note that the first two containers of mango from Guatemala arrived last week at the port of Valparaiso,” said Eddie Martinez, DFT Agrotropic general manager.
Two more mango containers of 20.8 tons were sent by Frutico. In just the first three shipments, Guatemala will ship over 64 tons of fruit to Chile. According to the results of the first sales, marketers will be able to assess the preferences of mango consumers in Chile regarding sizes and varieties. Then, in 2020, the country's producers expect to increase supply volumes and develop a large-scale export program for the Chilean market.
A-ipp.ru explains how, as the season in Peru and Ecuador is always finished by May-June, in this period Guatemala has an advantage in the world market.
