Analysts explained that USA mainly exports a certain kind of fertilizer to China, and this type of fertilizer is subject to additional tariffs. The tariff for certain pesticides also increased by 25%, but the effect of this higher tariff is not as big as the higher tariff for fertilizer. Other tariffs will also have a significant impact because they target industrial packaging.
Furthermore, the list of items with higher tariffs also includes many types of US fruits and fruit juices, which is good news for the Chinese fruit industry. The price of Chinese apples, oranges, grapes, and cherries will rise. This in turn will also increase the volume of fertilizer and pesticide used in the Chinese fruit industry.
