The wholesale price dropped from 14.5 yuan [2.10 USD] per kg last week to 9.7 yuan [1.40 USD] this week. That is a price decrease of 33%. When the green soy beans from Anhui enter the market in large volumes, the price is likely to fall even further.
Chinese wax gourds recently entered peak retail season. The wholesale price is around 1.7 yuan [0.25 USD] per kg, which is a price decline of 26% in comparison with last week, or 59% in comparison with last month. Based on market conditions in previous years, the price is predicted to drop even further. This is because the rising temperature makes storage of wax gourds more difficult, which in turn affects the supply volume of wax gourds. As traders with wax gourds in storage rush to sell their stock, the price will fall.
