Norway: Harvest of domestic vegetables to start soon

There is only just enough kohlrabi and celeriac left in the winter stores. The store of carrots will be exhausted in a few weeks. On the other hand, there will soon be fresh Norwegian fruit and vegetables for sale in the shops. Various types of lettuce, such as iceberg, romaine, baby romaine and lollo. Rucola and Chinese cabbage are also being harvested. Over the coming week the harvest of cauliflower and white cabbage will start.

The Norwegian potatoes are largely supplemented by import, mainly from Israel. The quality of the almond potato is good.

This week there was a new norm price for tomatoes for the first time, and the growers' price is rising with it. There is a lot of demand for Norwegian tomatoes, although the supply is tight. There is also a lot of demand for Norwegian cucumbers, but they also have to be supplemented with imports. The market for organic fruit and vegetables is stable.
