Bonduelle presents new product line

'Salad from our farmers' available from the end of May

In May 2019, Bonduelle launches "Salad of our Farmers", a new salad mix for which only German raw materials are used. The salads are grown in the fields of contract farmers, with whom the vegetable and salad expert maintains a long-standing cooperation. With the seasonally available "salad from our farmers" Bonduelle not only guarantees the regional origin of the fresh variety and thus supports local farmers, but at the same time ensures efficient and short transport routes. The new "Salad of our farmers" will be available from late May to late October, at a retail price of € 1.99.

In Bonduelles new product washed and ready-to-eat salads such as butterhead lettuce and Lollo Bionda combined with oakleaf lettuce and they have one thing in common: All lettuce comes from German soil. The fields of contract farmers are located at various locations in Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate and Bavaria. The authenticity of the concept "Salad of our farmers" is reflected in both the processed salads and in the innovative and eye-catching packaging, which shows a contract farmer, while the use of high-quality Paper Touch foil gives the package the feel of paper.

24 hours from field to processing
The vegetable and salad expert works with different farmers to grow the salad. One of them is Hermann-Josef Nellesen, with whom Bonduelle looks back on 15 years of successful cooperation. "I particularly appreciate the friendly cooperation and the great flexibility, which is also due to the proximity of my fields to the factory. Both locations are only about 500 m apart ", explains Nellessen. "When harvesting the salads, we make sure that they are done in the early morning in cool air to ensure that the salad is fresh and crisp in perfect quality delivered to the factory. From the time of harvesting to processing at the factory, it takes only 12 to a maximum of 24 hours," says Nellessen.
