Online tool/app to determine apple storage diseases

Dutch Fruit Growers Association, the NFO reports the launch of Frudistor. This is a new, free app/tool. It can determine the storage damage in apples based on three simple questions.

These are the type of damage, when it occurred, and where it appeared (internal/external). The user gets more information via clear images. They also get information about the apples physiological background as well as how to prevent certain kinds of damage. A similar app for pears is to follow.

The app was developed in the European Interreg program. Frudistor and VCBT (the Belgian Institute for Post-harvest Physiology) provided the Dutch version. Visit www.frudistor.de for more information. At the bottom right of the homepage, next to the Interreg logo, you can change the language to Dutch or Italian.
