The benefits of oranges for the skin

Rich in flavonoids and other important photochemical substances, an orange contains 71 mg of vitamin C. Its skin contains more than 133 mg! It is also rich in copper, calcium, magnesium, folic acid, vitamins A and B and fibre.

Orange peel can help prevent certain types of cancer, strengthen the defense mechanisms of the bronchopulmonary system, help treat diabetes and lose weight, improve heart and vision performance, help fight inflammation, improve the digestive system and strengthen teeth.

For the skin, the natural oils contained in oranges help to moisturize it, making it soft and healthy. Antioxidants fight free radicals, helping to delay the appearance of wrinkles and premature ageing. Its high serum acid content helps prevent skin flaking and dries out acne. Vitamin C helps the body produce collagen and elastin, which helps maintain the skin's elasticity.

Oranges also have a low calorie content: 47 kcal per 100 g.
