The organic yellow kiwifruit of the Jintao variety has managed to position itself in the world's export market, and now it can finally enter the European market.
In Argentina, the cultivation of this soft kiwi that has a yellow pulp has become popular since it was developed in the southeast of Buenos Aires and its production is steadily increasing in the country.
Argentina will export yellow kiwi to Europe for the first time
INTA has offered its technical support so that producers can identify the most suitable maturity index for their harvest, as well as other factors that influence the organoleptic properties of the fruit, to guarantee the success of the commercial mission.
Exports are being driven by the good prices due to the exchange rate, the increase in the demand for these fruits in Latin America, and the excellent quality of the kiwis that are produced in the southeast of the province.
According to INTA, the Italian KiwiGold consortium, together with Patagonian Fruits Trade, the leading Argentine export company of traditional and organic fruit, produce Jintao kiwi exclusively under the trademark Jingold, which has the distinction of having a smooth hairless skin and a bright yellow pulp.
This project is a challenge that will start with a first load of two containers. European consumers are increasingly interested in organic foods and there are few producers of certified yellow kiwi in the world, which offers Jingold yellow kiwis an exceptional advantage in the global export market.
