The challenge: improving transparency in the export of fruit and vegetables

"We have managed to reduce the number of unjustified claims"

Fruit Audit, the company devoted to offering information and quality verifications at destination for fruit and vegetable producers and exporters, organized a meeting of its Board of Directors at the headquarters of Fepex, in Madrid. This has served to highlight the important work carried out by this company to prevent unjustified claims, thereby contributing to improving the transparency of commercial transactions.

The main activity carried out by Fruit Audit since its creation in 2011 has been to verify quality claims at destination and determine whether they are justified. To this end, it has a service of professionals that can be present within 24 hours in any European market where there may be problems. In this way, according to its manager Rubén Cervera, "there is greater transparency in business relationships, as the number of unjustified claims is reduced and there is more dialogue between suppliers and buyers."

"We also provide information services, carrying out reports and market studies of different kinds at the request of our customers, which are mainly fruit and vegetable producing and exporting companies. In recent years, we have also attracted many in the auxiliary industry, including corrugated cardboard packaging manufacturers," says Cervera.

Fruit Audit is chaired by Fepex and participated by the Federation, the associations Coexphal, Freshuelva and Afrucat, Cajamar and the entity's own management, providing services to all the Associations and companies interested in hiring them.
