Electrically powered harvester for green asparagus presented

Engels Machines is presenting the recently introduced ASVerde in Foggia, Italy. This new electrically powered harvester has been specially developed for harvesting green asparagus on a flat surface.

Characteristic for the harvester are its extremely easy operation and excellent performance during wet periods. The maintenance-free battery pack provides the ASVerde with a range of up to 22.0 km.

10,000 harvesters delivered
Engels Machines, the manufacturer of the AspergeSpin, has delivered a total of 10,000 electrically powered harvesters for harvesting white asparagus. The same technology that allowed the AspergeSpin to become a success has now been used in the ASVerde.

Easy operation
With robust foot switches and a potentiometer, the operator can always drive quickly from stem to stem at the right speed. Thanks to its smooth mechanical steering, the harvester is easy to steer through the field.

High work performance
“With the rising cost of labour, the harvest of green asparagus is only profitable if the work performance is high enough.”

Characteristic for the ASVerde is its easy operation. This means the employee is minimally involved in steering the harvester and can concentrate fully on harvesting green asparagus. This results in high work performance.

Drive range
Engels machines has 20 years of experience with electric drives. Drive efficiency has always been its top priority when developing harvesters. With the results it achieved, its harvesters run for the longest time on one battery charge.

The ASVerde drives 14.0 km daily in Foggia, Italy and uses only 40% of its battery capacity.
