Frutas Tono, a Valencian company specialized in the cultivation of citrus fruits, has renewed its contract with Chep for three more years, continuing a collaboration that has been in place for 15 years.
Thanks to this collaboration, Frutas Tono has managed to strengthen its position at a logistical and operational level, while also moving forward in terms of innovation in the sector. In fact, the company has taken a step further in sustainability, reducing its CO2 emissions by 95.5 tons in 2018 thanks to the use of the Chep pooling system.
This system is based on the reuse and recycling of pallets, and has made it possible to save the CO2 equivalent of going twice around the world by truck. Moreover, the use of wood has been reduced by 82,155 dm3, equivalent to 80 trees and 8,000 kg of waste.
Both entities are also working together "to promote innovation in the fruit sector."
