"China's 'Beauty 13' strawberry gaining popularity in overseas markets"

The Noro virus was discovered in frozen strawberries on the global market several years ago. One of the countries to suffer from this virus was China. Fortunately, the Chinese government and Chinese companies implemented various measures to quickly solve this situation and the virus is no longer a problem in the Chinese strawberry industry, so the likelihood that frozen strawberries carry this virus is thus greatly reduced.

Xu Chuangang, of the Rizhao Lvtuo Food Co., Ltd. explained: "From the beginning until today, the Chinese government has implemented strict measures to control the situation. We have also adjusted our inspection procedures to test our strawberries for possible viruses. Our strawberries undergo several separate inspections, which has greatly reduced the possibility of a return of the Noro virus. Our company gives the utmost importance to this issue, because the sales volume is directly affected by the number of strawberries in which the virus is discovered."

"Very few strawberries were found to contain the virus. Strict and efficient control is important. The overall volume of orders from buyers does not suffer from these incidental discoveries. Buyers notice that the number of incidents declines and the number of orders has been relatively stable in recent years. Most clients trust in the efficiency of inspection procedures and believe that the risk of infected strawberries is low. Furthermore, during the previous outbreak of the virus it became clear that the problem is not necessarily with the strawberries but could be attributed to transport or other segments of the production and distribution process."

"The production season of greenhouse strawberries is coming to an end. Cold-ground strawberries from Linyi and Weifang in Shandong begin to enter the market. This greatly affects the overall market price of strawberries. The current market price is unstable as strawberries from production areas all over China enter the market. Only after the harvest season is over will the price stabilize. We predict that the volume of orders from overseas buyers will be limited during this chaotic period. The market price of frozen strawberries is relatively high. Many buyers are waiting for the market conditions to change. Our market research shows that the most popular variety of Chinese strawberries in overseas markets is the 'Beauty 13' strawberry."
