"Many Chinese banana production areas enjoyed abundant harvests in recent years and the overall market supply rapidly increased, which in turn pushed the price down. However, the product quality suffered from unfavorable weather conditions. In addition, growing banana import intensified market competition."

"This year the price of bananas finally increased. This development began early this year and still continues, but the room for the price to grow is shrinking. This is mainly because other seasonal fruits enter the market in bulk. Consumers have more than enough options to choose from. Even though the price is unlikely to rise higher, we are still extremely satisfied with the banana market conditions this year."
