"Southeast Asian market offers opportunities to Chinese fruit"

Cool Fresh will introduce two new brands this year: Holy Fresh and Spri Fresh. The company has been active in the fruit export industry since 2012. Cool Fresh exports grapes, apples, pears, oranges, and tangerines. They mainly export grapes. "We have a firm foundation and loyal customer networks in several Southeast Asian markets, which simplifies the introduction of our new brands in the Southeast Asian region. "We entered the Indian market for the first time last year. This year, while we continue to develop our market share in India, we also hope to open up new markets. We decided to focus on Southeast Asian markets after we considered the various aspects of distribution. In this way we can guarantee that the fruit will be fresh when it arrives in the destination market. Bangladesh is the most distant of our many export destinations. Transport approximately takes 10 days. We pay attention to local production seasons, for example, we export grapes to countries whose grape production season does not overlap with Chinese grape production. We can thus take advantage of the temporary supply shortage in such markets and satisfy consumer demand. The volume of fruit we export to companies that we cooperate with grows every year. For example, we completely sold out all our grapes from Xinjiang in January of this year. We received many inquiries from interested buyers, but our warehouses were already empty. We therefore work very hard every year to increase the production volume and better satisfy the growing demand from overseas buyers for Chinese grapes."

The company is currently under the leadership of Mr. Liao, who has a clear view on innovation. "Innovation is key to the development of a company. We value an open attitude for new ideas and a willingness to learn from others and innovate, because this attitude helps improve our operations. We do not blindly follow market trends, but we go one step further. We improve our current products. Furthermore, we visit many different fruit production areas to study various management methods, which we then selectively apply in our own plantations. We also invest in new product varieties and packaging. We plan to develop one new fruit variety every year."

Mr. Liao further explained that the Chinese agricultural industry rapidly developed in the last few years. Companies heavily invest in technology and equipment. One of the reasons for this development is the growing demand of Chinese consumers for top-quality fruit and vegetables. These demands are higher than ever before because Chinese consumers become increasingly aware of food safety and food quality. "Not only do we sell fruit, we are also working hard to improve the living conditions of farmers throughout China. Even though the agricultural industry rapidly developed, many farmers were left behind. Many Chinese farmers were unable to catch up with new advancements in the industry. These farmers are unable to produce fruit that meets consumer demand for high quality, and they sell their fruit at a loss, or in some cases, they are unable to sell their fruit at all. This further harms their ability to invest in technology and equipment. Large companies therefore cooperate with local government to find new markets for such fruit. There is nothing wrong with such fruit, but they are unable to meet the high standards of Chinese consumers. The standards in Bangladesh, India, and other markets is lower, so we export Chinese fruit there. At the same time, we try to help the farmers improve plantation technology and management. We do this because the standards in other markets are also rising, and in the future there may be no markets left for fruit that does not meet high quality standards. In this way we help to solve the problem of poverty in rural China."
