Zhengzhou Exchange opens trade in Chinese red jujube contracts

The China Securities Regulatory Commission recently approved the trading of red jujube contracts in the Zhengzhou Commercial Product Exchange. The trade in red jujube contracts will officially commence on April 30th, 2019. According to Zhengzhou Commercial, China is the largest country in the world in terms of overall surface area devoted to red jujube plantation and overall production volume of red jujube. China produces more than 98% of the world's red jujube. The overall surface area and production volume continuously increased since 2005.

The rapid growth of red jujube production volume has caused a market situation where supply exceeds demand, and this situation grows more severe every year. The price keeps falling, and the profit margin grows smaller, while competition grows more fierce every day.
