According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, 16,900 tons of carrots in the Stavropol Territory were harvested in 2018.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, Andrei Oleynikov: “The main acreage is located in the Krasnogvardeysky municipal district and the Ipatovsky urban district – 4,200 tons each, or 24.8% of the total carrot production. In the Shpakovsky municipal district – 1,700 tons, or 10%.”
In 2019, it is planned to increase the pace of carrot production in the region. The expected increase will be about 8%.
As previously reported by EastFruit, in April, the supply of high-quality carrots in the Russian market continues to decline rapidly, since most farmers have already completed the sales season, and the stocks of products in the remaining farms are already rather exhausted. At the same time, the demand in this segment remains quite high, which allows farmers to raise selling prices for high-quality carrots.
