Blue Whale celebrates its 50th anniversary at the Paris wholesale market

France: “One of the most beautiful events ever at Rungis market”

On April 4th and 5th, the customers of the Rungis market were treated to a virtual reality tour of the life-cycle of a Blue Whale apple; from the moment it is picked in the orchards of Moissac to its arrival on the supermarket shelves. Blue Whale organized the event to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

During the event, the company also offered breakfast to its 35 clients. The breakfast was served in a collector’s wooden crate and included apple juice and apple pies from the eco-responsible orchards of Blue Whale, as well as some honey from beehives in the department of Tarn-et-Garonne.

The visitors expressed their enthusiasm. “It makes you want to eat apples,” said one person. According to another, it was “probably one of the most beautiful events ever at Rungis.”

The visitors discovered many new things. “I did not know that Blue Whale was a French company, that it was right here, right next door,” said one person. “I will pay more attention to apples now that I know all the work they represent,” said another. A visitor also said that he did not know apple trees could be so big.

According to the organizers, the event was a success. “It was a real chance to discover of our profession, passion and product.”
