CPMA Montreal gets underway

Yesterday afternoon, the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) kicked off its annual trade show and the event will continue today. The show is being held at Palais des Congrès in the old part of Montreal. Exhibitors as well as attendees enjoy traveling to the second oldest city in Canada with its little streets and great restaurants. More than 300 Canadian and international companies exhibit at the event.

There was a good atmosphere on the show floor the first afternoon with retailers, wholesalers and foodservice companies in attendance. About half of the exhibitors is Canadian, which means it’s also an important show for international companies. Outside Canada, exhibitors from the US, Mexico, Honduras, the UK, Belgium, and Egypt were present. “If you want to do business in Canada, you need to have a booth here,” a few US exhibitors said.

The show will conclude today and a full photo report will be published on Monday.
