Leading figures from major domestic and international fruit companies, as well as important Chinese distributors, plantation owners, traders, and representatives of the media, more than 200 people in total, all participated in the festivities and witnessed as the New Zealand Zespri kiwi fruit of this new season entered the Chinese market.

Joy Wing Mau began a strategic cooperation with Zespri early in 2004. The relationship has grown stronger and more intimate in the last 16 years, to the extent that China is now the largest export market for New Zealand Zespri kiwi fruit. Joy Wing Mau and Zespri are an exemplary model for China-New Zealand trade cooperation.
