Bulgarian fruit and vegetable growers get financial support for post harvesting equipment

European Commission approved new state aid of 7.2 million leva for equipment for production and storage of primary farm produce

The European Commission has approved new state aid for a total of 7.2 million leva for investment in equipment for primary production and storage of fruit and vegetables, the Agriculture Ministry said. This transpired at a meeting of Deputy Agriculture Minister Verginia Krusteva with farmers in the northern region of Rousse on Friday, March 29th.

The aid will cover up to 50 per cent of the total investment for purchase of equipment and may not exceed 60 000 euro. The Deputy Minister said this money is aimed to support Bulgarian farmers in harvesting their produce and make them more competitive on the domestic and the European markets.
