Polish cabbage prices are almost 10 times higher than a year ago. Market players explain the sharp rise in cabbage prices by the rapid reduction of stocks in Polish farms. Certainly, prices for white cabbage in Poland continue to rise steadily, as is evidenced by the daily monitoring data of the EastFruit project.
Since the beginning of the week, white cabbage in Poland has risen by an average of 28% and today the prices in this segment are announced in the range of $ 0.65-0.75 / kg.
Market participants explain such a sharp rise in prices by the rapid reduction of stocks in Polish farms. At the same time, they characterize the demand for white cabbage as rush. Products are actively bought by both local wholesalers and companies that continue to supply them to the Russian market by re-export through third countries.
Thus, at the moment, prices for white cabbage in Poland are already almost 10 times higher than in the same period of 2018. At the same time, local farmers are planning to continue to attempt to raise prices. They explain their decision by the growing demand in this segment, which is the main reason for the rise in prices.
