Table grapes from Murcia are very much at the heart of promotional campaigns in China and Vietnam. Specifically, grape producers and exporters from the region which are members of APOEXPA (Association of Producers-Exporters of Fruit, Grapes and Other Agricultural Products) are taking part in a trade mission that kicked off on March 22nd.
The goal is to raise awareness about table grapes, especially among distributors and importers. Six companies are participating in this international initiative: Uniland Sociedad Cooperativa, Frutas Torero SA, Hispagroup, Moyca Grapes, El Ciruelo SA and Frutas Esther SA. The Director of APOEXPA, Joaquin Gomez, described the mission as an outstanding opportunity to raise awareness about Murcian products in Asia and help local companies gain a foothold in this strategic region.
Murcia is a table grape-exporting powerhouse, accounting for 70% of total grape exports from Spain in 2018, worth 236 million euros. Compared with 2017, Murcian table grape exports expanded by 24% in terms of volume and 25% in terms of value.
