The marketing situation for Austrian potatoes is showing no changes. The traders are still receiving potatoes in small quantities. Stocks are nevertheless disappearing very quickly. Contributing to this is the extremely poor relationship between raw materials and packageable goods. With increasing storage time, the yield will always be lower. There has been no change in the general price situation, whereby higher prices are also offered for very nice free goods - in Lower Austria, table potatoes are usually sold at €25 per 100 kg.
Organic potatoes available until Easter
For wire-worm free, small packable premium goods with AMA quality seal, up to €30 per 100 kg can be gotten. In Upper Austria, this was up to €29 per 100 kg. In addition to conventional potatoes, the supply of organic potatoes from Austria should also last until about Easter. Providing customers with the potato quality desired is the biggest challenge in the organic sector as well.
Carrot market unchanged
There is no real news from the Austrian carrot market. Marketing is in progress. Carrots are still sold domestically, but they are exported as well. Producer prices remain unchanged.
