Mayor of Gaoxiong visits China to promote Taiwanese fruit

The mayor of Gaoxiong, Han Guoyu, recently visited the Haijixing Agricultural Products Distribution Park in Shenzhen to sign a trade deal with the Shenzhen municipal government for the purchase of 200 million yuan [30 million USD] worth of Taiwanese fruit over the next 4 years. After meeting with the relevant dignitaries in Shenzhen on March 24th, 2019, Han Guoyu stated that he hopes to sign great orders in Shenzhen and Xiamen.

Carrie Lam, chief executive of Hong Kong, officially received Han Guoyu on March 22nd at noon. The two parties visited the Hong Kong Conference and Exhibition Center where they participated in an educational activity for the promotion of trade with Gaoxiong. The founder of this activity, Yu Huafeng, as well as the Gaoxiong Farmer's Cooperative, and the Gaoxiong Fishing Cooperative, signed a cooperation agreement witnessed by Han Guoyu. The agreement includes the purchase of fresh vegetables and fruit, aquatic products, and processed agricultural products from Gaoxiong.
