Dutch graphic group in new building at Fresh Park Venlo

“We grew large by staying small”

Not all of the boxes have been unpacked yet, but the Dutch graphic group is up and running in their new building at Fresh Park Venlo. “Finally,” Nino Venezia sighs. “We’re already noticing the benefits of one large building. We should’ve done this ten years ago! All those trips between the two locations can be skipped now, production can immediately start. The move was a daring exploit, because production couldn’t be halted, but we did it.”

Dutch graphic group is a total supplier in the field of graphic products with roots in the fresh produce sector. “A lot of commercial fresh produce enterprises manage to find us for labels and index cards. We have a constant stock of packing materials, so that we can quickly supply customers. We’re truly unique in that. Major suppliers work with delivery times for labels of three to four weeks. That’s madness in the fresh produce sector. By shifting some things around in our production, we can supply within three days, if necessary. But we’re not a wild card for companies who quickly need something just once,” Nino says.

“Our turnover is experiencing a boom. That’s because we can unburden customers,” Nino emphasises. “Everyone knows strawberries arrive on the market in spring, but they’ll all order cards at the last minute. We naturally anticipate this, but it can be even more efficient if we completely take over stock control for the customers, who sometimes carry more than 50 different labels. Because we work with a lot of fresh produce customers, we know what’s going on. Commercial enterprises would no longer have to worry about their stock and could focus on their own business.”

In the past year, Nino transferred all his shares to his sons Enzo and Gino, but he and his wife Anita are still involved with the company. “We still have so many plans. We already had a first with our printing presses based on LED technology, but we’ll introduce a lot more novelties. In the new building, we have the facilities to do that,” the entrepreneur says. The new building has a floor area of 2,600 square metres, and an additional mezzanine of 400 square metres.

“A lot of customers trust us,” Nino explains the growth. “While a lot of companies increased their prices across the line, we only increased our prices in some segments. We can do that because we’re a family company, and don’t have overhead. Customers talk directly to me, Gino or Enzo. We actually grew large by staying small. From a regional grower, we’ve now grown into a national player. However, we’re now working hard on finding new workers, to keep up with the work.”

Son Enzo doesn’t think he’ll change much regarding the company's philosophy his parents worked on. “We want to continue the company in the same way. We won’t make concessions to quality and flexibility, but we’ll dedicate ourselves to working faster and more efficiently, and we’ll bring the process up-to-date for modern requirements.”

On Friday, 28 June, Dutch graphic group will have an open house from 3 PM to 9 PM, and everyone is welcome to witness the graphic process.
