According to information from Chile's Fruit Exporters Association AG (ASOEX), Chile has exported 1,347,621 tons of fresh fruit to different destinations in the world so far in this 2018-2019 export season (September 1, 2018 to March 18, 2019), i.e. 2.3% more than in the same period last season.
The United States has been the main destination with 34.4% of all exports. It is followed by the Far East, with a 28.8% share, Latin America 17.2%, Europe 16.4%, Canada 2.0%, and the Middle East 1.3%.
The main fruits exported to date are: table grapes, cherries, apples, avocados, plums, and blueberries. Plum exports present the biggest increase, as exports of grapes, cherries and apples have been lower than in the previous season.

Asia is the market that reflects the highest growth (13.14%) when compared to the volume sent in the same period of the 2017-2018 campaign. It is followed by Latin America with 5.2%, and the United States with an increase of 4.61%. The other markets, such as Europe, reflect losses.
Within Asia, China is the main destination with 81% of what was sent, i.e. 314,671 tons, 13.48% more than in the same period of the previous campaign. The main fruits sent were: cherry (50. 2% of the total), plums (22.3%), table grapes (12.7%), nectarines (6.4%), avocado (4.2%) and blueberries (3.1%).
