San Miguel strengthens its operation in Argentina

Pushing ahead on their investment and growth plan, San Miguel made a comprehensive upgrade their operation in Tucumán, including its facilities, machinery and equipment.

San Miguel have integrated activities as well as expanded and improved fruit preselection packing operation at the Famaillá Industrial Complex in Argentina. Allowing them to meet the current requirements and conditions of the market.

The project involved moving the company’s operations from the Lavalle plant (in San Miguel de Tucumán) to Famaillá, as well as adapting equipment, machinery and jobs, both in operations and administration. This made it possible to increase packing capacity by 44%.

In addition, the company set up a comprehensive co-management agreement with Latin Lemon for the final preparation of San Miguel fruit for export at a packaging plant in the town of Bella Vista. The alliance with this company increases volume of exportable fresh fruit, ensuring the supply and quality of our products in the Northern Hemisphere.

“This is an indispensable step to ensure the presence of San Miguel lemons in international markets, based on compliance with established quality regulations in the United States and the European Union, which currently demand more than 70% of these exports,” said Martin Carignani, San Miguel’s Country Manager in Argentina.
